Hi Everyone,
When I looked through all the reference images this week, the lisianthus buds definitely called out to me. The picture is so beautiful. I almost thought it was fake at first.
I painted my piece in 4 hours (a lot longer than expected). I have a photo of my painting at the 2 hr mark. I thought keeping the white background with no shadow would be a good idea, until I tried painting with white around my flowers (used oils - which the white would take from my flowers and get the dark colors on my paint brush and then I would have to wipe it clean every time - a lot more difficult than I thought). I painted on a 8x10 canvas panel.

That is very pretty Thacsha! The lack of shadows gives it a lovely clean, graphic look. Nice crop too.

The odd shape of these flowers gives this almost the look of an antique Egyptian panel. Exotic and elegant.

Lyrical and lovely! Not easy to keep the delicacy with oils - but you managed it:)

You did a great job capturing lizianthus. I do flowers for weddings and use these often and love them. I will think of you the next time I do. Again, great job.

Lovely. I too thought this was a painting for a couple of days until I looked at it closely in the RIL; then, I felt comfortable finishing it:)
