That's an unusual angle for a flower closeup--I like it! Very graphic, almost abstract. The texture of the petals is there, but you haven't let it take over from the overall design. Those sharp curved lines give it a lot of energy. What's your surface?

What size? Really interesting composition!
Sunflowers are so often tackled face-on and it makes a great change to see one from this angle ~ gives it an air of mystery! I like the delicate highlights, too.

Just wanted to say hi and how much I love this work. The detail alone... spectacular! The color and use of negative space is just perfect! Thanks for sharing!

this is so lovely. The colours & composition are very striking. Can I ask a little about your technique? Whenever Ive tried to use pastels (other than oil pastels) with CP I find the pencil just kind of scrapes away the pastel. Care to share some tips??

Raye, I love your work & your style. Especially the curvature of the green leaves.
