This is on 16 inch x 12 inch surface. I'm going to follow this size from now on for all my potraits. The smile was hard to get without oil pastel pencils but whatever.. gotta work with what I've got. Made with Sakura Cray-Pas Specialists on non gessoed paper. I've found that I like painting potraits..

This is simply awesome.... how do you find the specialist OPs? They are the only Artist grade OPs that I haven't tried yet, you have achieved an amazing result with them here.

This is an awesome portrait! You achieved incredible detail (while leaving background minimal) with your Ops, and brought a wonderful freshness to Mona Lisa. Beautiful fabrics and folds - you worked your shades/values really well here. Congratulations.

I didn't search on the forum but google didn't give me any results for a mona lisa painting in oil pastels. So I thought I'd try it. Also I wanted to try paintings without the white stick because I usually use it a lot. I'm glad that almost no white was used.

Nicely done and with Craypas. I have tried them and have a hard time with them....do think I am spoiled.
Great job with the skin tones...

Awesome!!! That is really nice work. Beautiful. I have the Specialists set and only did one painting using them a few years ago. Now that I think back and look at that work, I was happy with the result. Have to use them again. :)

Just seeing this! I am happy to see such a great work of art made from the Cray-Pas Specialist OPs because the only OPs I have used have been the Cray-Pas Expressionist. I am glad to see what could be done with the better artist quality Cray-Pas OPs!

I love my Cray-pas! You did an outstanding job with the portrait. Obviously you're an artist with other mediums as well :)
