I'm hoping to get some time in with a weekly life drawing group. Did a couple of pieces today to get back into the groove.

It doesn't appear to me that you were ever out of the groove. :)
Nice work.

The woman is especially fine. Don't tell the POSER folks, but you've got them beat by many miles....:D

Hi skinny, how are you? This may sound weird, but it's very telling.
Back in '99 or 2000, I did a lot of looking on the web, trying to find where I wanted to be. I even d/l and tried a couple of 3D proggies. They were too hard for me, but that's ok, because, after seeing a few hundred 3D paintings, I decided that I hated the phony 3d look, and it would never sell. Actually, I wasn't thinking too much about that, anyway, just a place to fit in. I didn't have a clue, except, I knew what I liked (dosen't everyone?) So, I took some trembling steps in the direction I felt comfortabe with, standard pictures, of normal things.:cat:

Hey folks, thanks for the encouragement :)

The woman was the second of the two. I'd gotten warmed up on the guy and second one kind of flowed.

I get to do this from life tomorrow evening. The sessions are at the art institute and will run through the semester. I'll be starting a "portraits in oil" class next Tuesday evening that'll go for about two months. Being mostly self taught, I'm looking forward to doing the "art student" thing in a more formal setting. Hopefully, it'll improve my digital stuff, too.

Very nice! Makes me want to take a class.
Life drawing always helped me more than any other. Keep it up!
