Thanks Bettie! It doesn't have the pop I thought it would though, so I'll probably go back to work on the reflections, once it dries...

love it. Night paintings are some of my favorite. and the rain even makes it better... If i had to critique it I guess I would say the people kinda blend in a little. just a little more definition to make them pop. maybe the guy on the lefts back could have a little harder edge. Awesome, good job

Thanks for your input Mark. In the ref. photo, there's many people in the back, so to not get too lost I kept it very loose (and messy, unfortunately). I can see how some figures need to be refined. I'll work on it, thanks again!

Spreads a very nice atmosphere. You didn't lose yourself in detailling. What makes it great is that you took space on the bottom of this work to place the reflections of the lights on.

Thanks Coen1!

Notice how much darker the shadows are in the photo.
I think I would remove the person on the left who is walking out of the scene.

I really like this style. The brushwork is lovely and you can get an overall sense of atmosphere. The figure on the left does draw my eye out of the painting a bit but the reflections and bold use of colour are great.

I like it a lot. Don't bother with details. You have captured the essence of the scene. Nice work.

Spyderbabe, Obanya and Phil, thank you.
Taking the person on the left out may have been a good idea at an earlier stage, but now I'll keep it there.
What I will do is rework the cluster of people on the right, and darken the shadows... then call it done!

Sophie - I agree with Phil - the overall effect of your painting is really good and I doubt whether tinkering with detail is a good idea. I'm not keen on shopping expeditions (ask my wife!) and to see other people scurrying about in the rain on a wet night in the city on my computer screen is as close as I want to get!
Well done.

Thanks Mike! I think I'm going to put it away and come back to it in a week or so and see if I still want to make some changes...
