First drawing of the year! This is an updated version of Da Vinci's Vitruvian Man with a modern day Apollo Space program twist. Probably spent 40+ hours total. Have to apologize for the lighting - tried to shoot this one under cheap flourescents in a dark room.

The Lunarian Man
Pencil (with a touch of Watercolor)
14" x 20" Arches HP Watercolor paper

Hey, that's pretty cool, Mark. Unique, too. Are you submitting it for ASAA?

Thanks Russell! Yes - one of my submissions for this years competition - I understand you may have some "pull" with the jurors this year! :wink2:

Beautiful composition. Is the LEM and CM getting more detail or will that take away from the man?

Edit, I'm sorry, I couldn't see it. I thought it was just an outline.

Neverstsfyd - Thanks!! I know it's tough to see the detail when reproduced at this size - I spent a lot of time on the original working up from guide and construction lines to the bold object lines - old school drafting ...

Oh Yes - Like this ! The colour accents really make this work.
Very nice indeed

Just wanted to say congratulations to my buddy Mark Bray. On Saturday evening Lunarian Man was awarded the James V. Roy Award (Best of Show) in the 2013 American Society of Aviation Artists International Art Exhibition. Congratulations on your first Roy Mark. I have no doubt that there will be more in your future!
