Hi, first post to the abstract forum ...

I started my art "career" out doing representational stuff, then for years I did only abstraction, now I'm back to doing mostlyrepresentational work. This is a little silverpoint drawing I just completed that is a bit of both worlds. Just wanted to share as it is the first time I have attempted silverpoint and I was really just trying to get a feel for how it works. This drawing took me about seven hours - the silverpoint process is really slow and requires a certain degreee of meticulousness in order to build up dark tones. Comments, crit etc appreciated!

I like this because it's illusional (imo). You think you know what something is, then you second guess it. Ohhh look an eye, no wait, it's a nipple, no wait....

Well done.

I love it Your very good at this abstract thing.
Do you ever convert your abstracts to larger canvases to paint? I find I have to do a thumbnail first and then freehand it on canvas with a loose paynes grey outline before I start.

I really like this style of abstracts and have a lot in my sketch pads. I am glad to see this style and you should frame it and hang it.

Pilan - I have, a few times. Here's an example:

This drawing, I will definitely keep and hang. As the silver ages and tarnishes it will take on a cool, deep brown shimery look.

Thanks for the comments! :)
