This a scene that I shot and painted when on a trip down the Danube. I don't usually paint sunsets, but I couldn't resist this one so I tried. Please give me your input.
This is oil on linen and is 24 x 30 inches in size. I call it Sunset on the Danube

very nice, phil, 'cept for the over dark/solid, too straight upper tree line on the right ... and the trees reflecting in the lit waters could use a bit of peek-a-boo light?

the yellow bits are quite delicious

Very nice Phil. I like it particularly because you have resisted the temptation to go too lurid and "over the top" with the sunset. The water and reflections are good and my only nitpick echoes La's - the reflection of the tree masking the setting sun looks too long and dense ... could do with a few light bits in it.

Well done.

I really like this one. I might move the horizon line a little more off center...

Thank you all. This one was a fun thing for me and I'm so glad that it has some appeal. I don't do many landscapes such as this. It is very different from doing people and portraits.
