Pretty interesting! I've seen something kind of like this done with Star Wars. Except it was done by lots of different people. Each person was given I think a 5 second clip and they could reproduce it any way they want - drawings, paintings, dolls, live actors. It was a lot of fun.

Blade Runner is one of my three favorite films (the other two being Days of Heaven and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford) so I had to take a look. Interesting exercise.

Actually, It reminds me of the films of Jeff Scher (there's a video on YouTube where they show him creating his films). He uses watercolors in this manner (as well as other media).

This is an unusual way to use watercolor too. One sheet of paper, folded accordion style. I can't imagine trying to do this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkCx8D-Aw_A

I see framed prints of things like that every now and then, usually in discount stores. I've always felt they were gimmicky as well as having the aura of a velvet Elvis. Nice watercolor technique, though.
