Long time no post, but I've started to work on this piece that I previously started last year.

Yesterday I applied a magenta glaze to all the areas in light on both aircraft and the clouds, and feel much better about how things are now looking.

I need to let the glaze fully dry before applying the details and final highlights to both aircraft.

36" x 18" oil on canvas

C&C always welcome

Good to see you back working on this one, Pete. The F18's are looking very good.

Looks great! Question tho, are the tailpipes on the nearest plane correct? Something looks strange there to me!

Cheers guys

are the tailpipes on the nearest plane correct? Something looks strange there to me!

I'm not happy with the nozzles, and it's not helped by the fact the furthest nozzle is in the shadow of the tail fin, while the closest is in the light.

You've got plenty of depth in there Pete and the aircraft look good as they sharpen up.

The shadow of the tail nearest you is creating that extra dark feature on the engine nacelle.

Are we going to see this one at BWI?

Well my intention is to enter it, but whether it makes the cut ???
The competition gets tougher every year :-)

Excellent Pete - the main Hornet look perfect and the lead a/c suitably distanced by aerial perspective .
