Our L artist is GEORGE BENJAMIN LUKS 1867-1933
Luks, an American artist born in Pennsylvania chose the realistic style for his paintings. He depicted urban street scenes and the poor and homeless, among his works. He joined up with fellow artists, including Robert Henri, William Glackens, John Sloan and Maurice Prendergast to form the Eight that later became the Ashcan School.
Please enjoy his work and copy or be inspired in any medium and post here for us to see.

A small study of Luks, 'the polka dot dress'. I loved this image of his.
My copy is acrylics, on paper-board, 5 by 7 ins. Done fairly quickly and roughly but I did enjoy making it.:D
