Oil on a 40 x 40 cm canvas. This is a portrait of my friends dog which I am meant to give to her as a surprise. Hope she'll like it!! C & C most welcome.

Nice work Lorraine difficult to help without the reference though it seems to me the right dog's pupil is smaller than the left

Very nice painting. Is he a Jack Russel or a Fox Terrier? He looks lively and your colors are good but I do agree with Robert about the eyes.

Hi Lorraine thanks for posting the photo this way you can get help
I think your painting needs more contrasts and to staigten the nose the yeaers have been enlarge too
I enlarged the dog's right eye too compare the two pict and see if you prefer so you can do it

I am sure your friend is going to be delighted with this. You have had some good advice from Robert and with a few little changes , it will be just fine. Looking forward to your next one.
