Hello folks! I need help with the rose color, how to make it pop and make it have more dimension. Any suggestions when it comes to color? Also the skull, I added a brownish tint but i feel it still needs another kick of color, any suggestions? Background is just layered in there that i'll deal with later :)

Why do you want to paint this? In order to make the rose pop, you need light. A few white edges on the the rose will do it. Use paler whites on the rose in shadow.

thanks pjartwc, I will lighten up some areas of the painting on the right side to give the rose some highlights. I want to paint this because it was inspired by a song I heard called poison. I will add some script writing on the upper left at the end.

Oh my! thank you so much VitruvianStudio! Thanks for actually taking the time to record a critique also! I will definitely think about the light source and turning edges. As for the rose I've been mixing the cadmium red with some magenta for the darker areas. But I will try to do what you talked about! Thanks again! :)
