This is a work in progress loosely based upon one of my cats :)

So far this has been my attempt at playing with a set of Mungyos soft oil pastels.
I used a very minute amount of Sennelier. I mostly wanted to see how I liked them compared to my Caran Dache. I can't comment on the similarities / differences at this point other than I like more browns than there are in the set. Anyway here is the piece on a small piece of black Canson paper http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/11-Dec-2012/35760-1118562-image.jpg

Any helpful comments are welcome. Especially tips on using the oil pastels.
I'm in the process of enlarging the ear on the left.

I love it! Color, texture and the smug look really capture the eye! I like working on black too...it really makes color pop.

Very nice piece - I like your blending of colors for the fur and nice work on the texture. Eyes are great.

I like Mungyo's. Mary

This is just great and looks wonderful on that dark paper. I also like all those little touches of muted gray.
Is this the orientation of the papinting or should it be turned around?

Thank you everyone for your very kind comments :)

Yes, the orientation should be different! Sorry about that!

Dee, it's lovely. I love the dark background - it really makes the colour really vibrant.
