I am making an acrylic painting of Bryce Harper, the rookie of the year in the NL of the MLB. He plays center field for the Washington Nationals. I am actually a Red Sox fan, along with the rest of my family. But my little brother love Bryce Harper, he does the same eyeblack when he plays in games. He looks up to him. So I am making him this portrait of Harper for Christmas.

Any critiques will be greatly appreciated. I am really going for likeness of him so anything that you see that could help me with that. I am only 14 so the more I can learn from everyone the better. I will hopefully have another update over the weekend. Thanks!

I, too, wish I had started at 14, or 24, or...However, I did start, and that's the important thing. I am nw to all this too, so take all this with a grain of salt. I probably don't know a lot.
Though the orientation of the head/face is different, the resemblence is strong, and I think that as you get the coloring, lights and shadows placed, it will be stronger. Since you changed head orientation, the neck and ear also need altered: I think we would see less neck (narrower) and the ear would not be so sticky-out. The shape of his right eye-(V Left) is off esp at the outside corner.
Hope this helps you.
