The Martin first flew in 1949 as an attack design, later changed to low level bombing. It lost out to the Canberra.

i love the aircraft of the 50's 60's....some really fantastic designs

Beautiful! I can tell, it's flying right around here (Edwards AFB - Plant 42) and I love the reflections in the metal too! Your wonderful work, made me think of another beauty, that never saw production; the Republic Rainbow. Talk about sexy lines. Almost Lockheed Constellation like, but with a huge glass cockpit.
