Hi all--

As usual, please try to keep your questions and comments relevant to the December 1st Paintalong.

Johannes has said that he will be working in WATERCOLOR and that the ratio of the painting is 4:5; this includes 8x10, 12x15, and 16x20. He has posted the ref photo at the student access page. The painting will be 16x20 inches.

You can get to the student access page from the email he sent last 11/14/2012, subject line "Paint Along 4 Winter session Nov 24 to Dec 15". If you signed up for the sessions, and completed the second registration (at gotomeeting), you should be on his email list. For other instructions on finding the access page, please see the Paintalong Nov. 24 - Dec 15.

Here's what Johannes suggests be in this thread:
- Comments and questions about the Dec 1 Paintalong, including medium, size, palette, surface prep, etc.
- J's final painting
- Students' paintings based on the Dec 1st paintalong
- Comments and critiques about the paintings that are posted.

Please DON'T POST general discussion relating to the paintalongs as a whole, including comments about ustream, technical glitches, suggestions for future paintalongs, dates and times, "where's the thread for XYZ?", how awesome Johannes is for doing these, etc - those should go in the Paint Along Nov. 24 - Dec 15 Discussion Thread
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1237902 or the general Discussion Thread http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1114192

EXCEPTION: Johannes can post anything he wants here.

Here's what NOT to post, here or anywhere: J's email or the link to get the photos, download the videos, etc, because those reveal the Secret Password. (Oh, and don't post the password.)

(I have simply copy and pasted what Sherry Sherman has posted previously. Sorry if I missed some vital information but I think it's all been corrected now! And thanks to my 'correctors! :) .....Dana)

I hope this is the right thread to post our homework from Dec 1st. I must admit I was right into the detail zone right along with Jo yesterday. I am not one for painting buildings so this was a good exercise for me. This is pastel on Canson and could not take any more of my abuse. See you all next Saturday !

I don't know what you did to the eave of the house but it sure look better to my untrained eye. During paint along it looked like there was to much snow there, will watch download to see. Have really enjoyed these last 2 week, Dec. 1 to me was one of your best, be watching Saturday.

Absolutely Beautiful paintings! This is so pretty, yet quite complex!
I watched most of the paint along but I'm waiting for the downloadable files to try this one out!

Here is my effort for the watercolor, very challenging!http://www.wetcanvas.com/Community/images/06-Dec-2012/174457-PC030044.JPG

I decided to try this one again using oils ( 16 by 20 ). I like it a lot better and enjoyed the details more than I thought I would. The best part for me is getting right inside the painting and with this one, I did.

Hello Johannes:

I just finished the watercolor from the December 1st class. I am a little behind in watching the full videos.

Here is what I came up with.

Hope you like it.

Finally done!
It was a challenge to paint small, approx. 7,5 by 10 inches. I learned quite a few things. Did some corrections with pastel. And there is an out of space evergreen!:D

Merry Christmas, everyone!
