Using Inks with Dip pen on stretched canvas.

just got some of the basic shapes down some corrections to make will add some leaves and a background before I darken and work out the branches more.

questions:

Composition?
Is it to busy or not enough?

My goal is to stick to sepia tones as much a I can. Any suggestions welcome.

I think you have made a great start.
This looks really interesting.
Maybe some extra in the bottom right corner?
Not sure, this would depend on your intentions for the background.
:)

Worked it a little more putting in some start to the background colors adding some of the distant tree shapes and starting the leaves. no detail work done yet.

Interesting Erica.
Perhaps darken the background at the bottom to emphasise more light towards the sky at the top?

Not sure about the background darkening grading bottom to top, I would leave it a consistent colour - just my preference

I was going for a light green almost washed out but it darkened and brightened on me. I am trying to figure out how to tone it down and have gone over it once with a light wash with sepia tone and looked great wet but dried same as before...

Right now the color is bringing it into a cool shade and I want a warmer tone to the piece. I let it dry over night and will mix up a new batch of colors today and try again. Ink is trickier then wc or acrylic. Might have to go mixed media or maybe if i add a little conte to it...

I like experimenting!
