I always dreamed to own my own Midori sketchbook, but I find the price a bit over the top for me...
I know that people managed to make their own, so I made mine, but I consider it still a "version 1" result.
Can you suggest some link to websites explaining the step-by-step procedure to make one?

thanks!

Here's one: http://www.comfortableshoesstudio.com/2012/05/make-it-yourself-midori-traveler-notebook-knock-off.html

There are a LOT more tutorials.

Google this: homemade midori travelers notebook

EDIT: The hard part, imo, would be finding the leather.

Hi there, I too found my fave sketch books were getting too expensive and have just made some of my own. A friend pointed me at this tutorial,

I found it great for the stitching that lets the sketch book lie flat when open. You'll find lots of other useful videos suggested alongside this one. Hope it helps. Happy sketchbooking, :D
