First post a combination of Painter Classic and Photoshop 5.0. I used a photograph and the tracing paper mode.

Hi and welcome. Very nice. I might lighten it up just a bit your mouth is glowing too much for my taste. I have ps 5.0 what is the tracing paper mode. I guess I haven't found that yet....

I agree,drop the lighting and light the painting evenly. I would REALLY like to see how it was done and more detail. It looks like a very interesting approach.

Hmm... I haven't tried the tracing paper yet.

I may not have made myself clear. Tracing paper mode in Painter Classic allows you to open a photo and use it as a base.


Step 1, Open an image file

Step 2, select File > Clone command to reproduce the image.

Step 3, Use Ctrl-A to select the whole image, and delete it.

Step 4, Turn on the tracing paper tool (upper righthand corner of image) and using the pencil/eraser tool, you can trace the image and produce a sketch.
You should also be able to adjust the opacity of the paper.
