This is in pen on paper and is 7" x 5."

I completed it on a car ride while my husband was driving.

All critiquing is welcome.

That limited palette is wonderful!!! Those wisps of contrst in her hair are very clever!! In all honesty, not sure I really like that over-sized bottom on this one. She seems too delicate for that. Small boned or something. Maybe it's just me. I'll come back and look later too.

But I love the pose.

Thanks very much for your feedback, Tam.

I greatly appreciate your honesty, too!!!

When I was working on it, I was thinking -
Modigliani of the butt!

I really like her oversized bottom - don't ask me why!!!
I may be alone in my high opinion of her butt, I realize.

She's very lovely, but I get the impression that she's hot, tired and bored, and has just plopped down to sigh loudly and be quarrellsome. What were you thinking at the time you drew her? :D

I love this Nina...I am a fan of this cross-hatching and these wispy curly-ques you do. You have such style..

The bottom jars me but I like it, she's grounded...

I've got it. The reason I didn't like the initial view was because the peaceful flow of aura portrayed in "zen" seemed to be disrupted by the shape of the bottom. Almost like a beautiful relaxing moment interupted by something humorous, which isn't really a bad thing, just depends on the situation.

In looking at it again, I have decided to view her as a bud vase blooming with red lotus against an orange sunset. This creates a soothing smile for me. Peaceful happiness.

I am, and always have been, comfortable in expressing myself re: your work, Nina. To me, you are a professional who emmanates such an attitude that appreciates constructive or observational criticism. Not many can do that without becoming defensive. This is just one of the things that set you aside from being an amateur.

I too, appreciate honesty and would love the same. :) How else are we to learn from one another?

Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.

In answer to:
What where you thinking when you drew this?

I wasn't thinking of anything erotic, sensual or pornographic!

I was feeling good and kinda peaceful and just enjoying the process of creating what I considered to be a serene image.
And that is the truth!!!

What you guys are seeing is in your heads, not mine!

Thanks again for all of your comments.
I appreciate hearing from all of you!
