This month's paint-along has the theme of 'Spots'.

Spotty animals, spots on clothes, spotty porcelain etc. I hope you find something to inspire your art.

Paint or draw, from any or all of the following photo references (in RIL) and post your works in this thread when done. Please tell us your medium, size of the work, and any other details of interest.

Use any medium to interpret the theme, and any style welcome: contemporary, abstract, classical, etc.

Photos to follow....

Spots before my eyes. Love photo paint along when you or Robin do it...then it is a surprise and challenge for me.

There are so many dots around...what about freckles. Fun project.

Here's a very quick study sketch in watercolours. Just to get the gist of the animal. He is one spotty dude...as I found out!!

His anatomy is a bit off but OK for a preliminary study.;)

Great expression....looks like he loves you and doesn't want to harm you. Don't trust the spotted one.

Every time I think of spots, I think of chicken pox. People don't seem to get it much anymore...but I remember it well.

Very apt illustration for 'Spots', Janet. She looks glum to be in bed with the spots.

I remember I caught chicken pox when I was about 22. I didn't know I'd had it. It was over when the doctor diagnosed it! I was doing some teaching at a primary school...and isn't it usually a kid's illness?

Hmmm. Chicken pox can be serious in effects too. I didn't know that. Sorry about your hearing. I think I'll do some googling to find out about chicken pox!!

June, your leopards are so good looking especially the second one.

Janet, what great humor. Totally story book like even though it's probably you yourself.

Sandra....how clever...just love your spot buildings.

Tyree, the spotted cheshere cat...wonderful. I guess Seurat would be considered a spot painter.
