View Full Version : My Love of Years

I'm new here and have just completed this oil. It is entitled "My Love of Years" and it 30"x40" on a coarse hemp canvas. It has a great deal of knife and brush texture that doesn't show up in the picture. I'm thinking of going back when this layer is dry and reinforcing some of the darks and adding some spots of more saturated color. What do you think? Comments and critiques are welcome.

Such a loving embrace, fills my heart with memories of days gone by. The stylization is definately growing on me.
Oh, and welcome to WC :D Hope you feel at home.

Thank you for your responses. Most of my work has been using a more realistic depiction of space. I thought the piece was working pretty well, but my inexperience with the style led me to get other eyes to look at it. Thanks again.

I like how carefully he's holding the tiny little heart...
they are tiny in our hands for the most part.
