Hello again,
Did you do it plein air, or did you photograph it? Wish I could find spots like that to paint. Someday I've got to get to Scotland. I'm not an expert but it looks beautiful.

Good one I like it. The only suggestion would be to bring some (just a hint) of the gold in the sky into the water.<p>

Alan,
you can find one of my railway paintings on page 3 of Oil Painting Critiques, its the only one I have left as the others have gone. One of them was the Flying Scotsman on the Fourth Bridge that I painted for a Railway driving instructor who told me he was a one time fireman on it. There also a few of my still life paintings scattered throughout the rest of the pages.

Hi Victor Sorry it took so long to reply to your last e-mail,but I was chasing a black five round Scotland this weekend,it was great, the black five thought it was a duchess screaming up Beattock like that,I had a look at oil paintings critique, but I couldn't find your painting, anyway if you've got time look at --www.ripvanblair.scriptmania.com-- that's my web site I would very much like your comments on it. Oh I thought your painting of the Titanic was excellent, the perspective is just right,I've been looking for some more of your work Alan

I love the painting. I was sharing everyone's wishes to vist Scotland, well. Now that I hear it rains "all the time", I really want to go. I think I remember what rain is, lovely and wet, cool and refreshing? It smells nice, too...
Now, could you, just for those of us scorching in West Texas, paint some rain? That is something I have been wanting to do...or even one of those puddle painting, with tadpoles and rocks showing in the shadows and the clouds showing in the reflections...but, I have no reference:(
I truly do love your painting... I will refer back to it often. It makes me think cool refreshing thoughts.

Lovely! You do have a way with reflections. I am going to keep a close eye on your postings. Every painting is another place I'd like to be.
I find them calm and refreshing. I am learning sooo much from everyone at WC.
A love for your homeland is evident in your paintings. That is what I hope to someday translate to my own canvases. Although I complain about the drought, dry grasses, dust and heat, I really love this place. I often find incredible beauty here, though, the glimpses are fleeting and I haven't developed the skills yet to capture them. I have not lost hope though, I can be very hard-headed.
Keep posting, and inspirng.

Thank you very much for your comments,I've been looking through my paintings for reflections and I thought you might like this one ,It's not Scotland,it's Norfolk in England, and I did it from some photos I took a few years ago,it may help for your reflections I'll keep looking and let you know . Hi Alan, I've only posted replies, I'm about to paint a forest scene - i've been torn between the woods and a harbour. I was encouraged a few years ago by selling a pencil drawing of 'maiden pinks', as well as an abstract ink painting unfortunately I didn't take any photos, I'm kicking myself now. I've tried Life drawing (being a former Life model) but I'm looking at the landscapes. once I've done me painting I'll post it. :)
