(also posted in mixed media)

Oil on canvas, 12 x 16 matted
wren's nest made of hair from my horses and dog, broken seashell, lamb's wool, 24 ga wire, silk leaves, blue jay feather, gold leaf, torquoise beads, modeling clay, glue, secrets beneath the ripples, and whimsical agony.

Thanks for looking. :)

Laura: lovely lovely. The colors give it a serene calm, like an undisturbed day in nature except for and by nature. I love the rippled effect upon the water by the dragon fly. You really did good constructing her.

The leaves under the water are wonderful. And it looks like there's something hidden? The golden thing? I can't tell what it is: must be the 'secret'. :)

You know what this reminds me of? Walking along the bank of a river or stream, looking down, and seeing something reflect in the water. :) Something you can see, but not quite reach: a shiny coin in the bottom of a wishing well.

Well done, my friend. Congrats on your first collage. :)

Dena, thank you so much for taking the time to look and respond. :) I really appreciate it.

Tamana, your words are definitely more beautiful than the piece itself...but I know that you understand the beautiful/ugly feelings it represents. And now...a new beginning, and maybe no more wishing in empty wells. I'm confident my next offering will be more worthy of praise. Thank you.

Laura :)
