Decided to let the cartoons rest and do a painting this morning.
Havent painted off the cuff in a long time...

Man... tempera.
Its so cheap, does it last? Or will this come crumbling down in a few months? Any tempera info would be helpful.

sorry about the ish pic (webcam)

Do you mean egg tempera or that cheap stuff for schoolkids?

Egg tempera lasts for ages. The cheap powdered stuff schoolkids use probably isn't permanent at all.

I don't know how I missed this yesterday, but it's whimsical! I love the focal mask, it's great. This would be a fun puzzle. Looks like you could empty it out of the box now. :)

Thats what it is. At $1 for a huge bottle... not bad for practice.
A pain in the ass to use though. Kinda cracking in spots...Anyway to save this? acrylic over?

Pitch it and go buy the good paint.... It never pays to use "cheap" or "less expensive" or "more economical".... your results and longevity (or lack of) will prove that using artist quality is worth the extra cost...
