That depth on the left is all I can look at. A pool of beauty. Every color of leaves melted into liquid.

This is very interesting. Tremendous surface and lots of mystery. What tools did you use to create the effects?

All I used was an encaustic iron.

I've never worked with encaustics. How does the process with the iron work? Is it a special type of iron?

I love the effect!! I also would like to try this encaustic out. What is the process? I could look it up ...but would be more interesting if you told how YOU do it. *GRIN*....please

Go to the Mixed/Alternative forum. In the lead in page there is an article by Joe Majury that tells you all about it in a demo. That is where I learned about the process, and yes, you do need a special iron which can be bought through the website where I got the rest of the materials from the special papers to the blocks of pigmented wax. www.encausticart.com
