A recent trip I took to a local island and a couple of views done plein aire - both at a place called Gillies Bay on Texada Island and both very small! I'm going to cross post these in the Plein Aire forum.

Yum! Those are both fabulous! I like them both but I think the top is my favorite.

Hi Katherine:
They both are really nice I know you didn't ask for a poll:D but I like the second one the best. I think it's that there is more variety of color. Also I tend to like the verticial orientation.
Good work!
Best,
Kathy:)

Katherine, they're both wonderful. That black Art Spectrum works very nicely on the bottom one. I particularly like the contrast you achieve and I can tell you love color as much as I do! Thanks for sharing.

Didn't ask for a poll, you're right Kathy, but I love to hear what people think especially when there are two for comparison. It's terrific to see the varying views.

You have that fantastic sense of dramatic color that seems to show up only in plein aire landscapes -- I love it.

great perspective on the top one, and love the water inlets and the bottom one almost looks like a woodcut, fascinating!

Katherine - fantastic work per usual. I can feel that wonderful sweet NW air blowing in my face as I sit there with you.

Keep them coming. I'm especially fond of the composition and color range on the lower piece.

Dramatic!!! Barb
