Do they make any series of particular colors that get successively lighter? It is hard to understand whether there is any logic to their numbering system. Some other makers such as Sennelier, Schmincke, Blockx and Mount Vision seem to do this.

Hello sthacher,

Jack Richeson Handmade Pastels are one of my favorites. Here is a link which provides a great color chart and info about their pastels.

Thank you Paula. I have seen their color chart, but I was wondering if they had any logic to their numbering system, e.g. Blue 54, Blue 37, Blue 34 as successively lighter colors of the same hue. Or, are they just randomly produced different colors. I do really like the feel of them.

Don't know. I love the feel of them too. I always say Schmincke's are like butter, but Jack Richeson Handmades are like whipped butter.
