View Full Version : Pendeen, Cornwall

I have just posted this in Landscapes, but wanted to share it here too. This was inspired by my recent trip to England - a wonderful view of the sea and the rocky coastline of Cornwall - so very different from the white cliffs of my native Kent.

All and any comments would be welcome - this has been quite a challenge!

I love it, and I especially admire the way you made the hills/knolls roll over the landscape. Great job!!!

I really like this landscape!

I also like the fact that this 2nd picture you posted is a bit further back, more at what we would call a "normal" viewing distance. Sometimes I think we all get so wrapped up on details, we forget to go and look literally at the bigger picture, at what the immediate impact is upon us. By remembering to look at things on our screens from across the room, we may see something we missed when looking so closely! The same applies to our own paintings...take a few steps back or step across the room and then see how we feel about a piece before deciding what to do next! Thanks for the reminder, even if it wasn't exactly intentional ;) .

The detailing that you added in the foreground really helps I think, and I love the "odd shape" of this coastline, it makes it very interesting to look at!

Thanks for sharing this one Jan :D

:D :D :D
