.... glad you got your fridge Smudge......

Hayley, is that right what I read you stubbed your toe in a drunken stupor lololol

Im off to the docs this afternoon, as dont feel well..... think Im coming down with something..... cough, sore throat..... prob all brought on by stress am under..... but ohhh well..... need a tonic and pick me up, perhaps some antibiotics - I need a relaxing holiday lol
Hubbie is not happy as he's had to go pick up Son and take him to the orthadondist whom happened to leave a specialist type of gumshield after having he's brace removed after two years in a cafeteria in the South of France :p :p :p :p ..... he only told us about 20 mins after we'd set off........ we doubled back, and then discussed did we really want to try and 'speak' and explain that we wanted to hunt through all their rubbish bins for a pair of plastic nashers.... !!!! ........ after going round one of our roundabouts 3 times ..... we decided no lololol....... so now he has to have another...... and at £80.00/$125.00 hubbie is not a happie chappie
...... but its good to be back lol

Dawn.... I missed all those lovely stories you share about your life and dental work - so very glad you are back amongst us!!!

Can't even imagine having to explain that situation in French and yet I'm certain it's happened to everyone all over the world. Frankly I think you're getting off a lot cheaper than they'd be in the states - but wouldn't know for certain.

Feel better after your visit to the doctor's. It's amazing how many of us pick up viruses after flying and on vacation. Love that recycled airplane air.

Smudge - I have a vision of you walking through a double wide refrigerator door out to the front step. Brings me a smile...

Hayley - don't get up and do ballet on that toe yet - but do go out and have some fun.

It's another fog bank day in SF and yet my latest oil plein aire teacher is willing to take me out again for a go at the landscape. It's been a challenge leaving pastels I have to say - and yet I want to learn a bit more about this medium. I'm also trying to work larger which is also challenging.

Sorry to ramble - off to pack up my art supplies..... Ciao!

Barb

LOL Dawn :D You could say "Excusez-moi Monsieur, pourriez-vous nous aider s'il vous plait? Mon fils a oublié son protège-dents sur une table de la cafeteria" ~ I'm guessing one of those orthodontic gum shields would be called a 'protège-dents' ~ funnily enough I have a French friend who wears one so I will have to ask her! :) Don't know about an equivalent to 'nashers' ... LOL ... French has tons of slang words so there must be some good'ns, but I can't think of any at the minute. Off to look in the dictionary!

LOL I ain't posh ~ at least, not as posh as Dawn (I don't even OWN a suitcase) :D but I did a degree in French and Spanish some years ago ... and somehow managed to squish in a year of beginner's Portuguese too ... That was 11 years ago and since then I've never really used my languages in the jobs I've done, except very indirectly, which is kind of sad :( My Spanish is very rusty but I try to keep my French up. When I was 20 years old I spent a year teaching in Burgundy and developed a passion for the place and the language!
