Stuck on Acrylic Paint
Have you ever had a palette ruined because your acrylics dried on it and you couldn’t wash them off? Or how about acrylic paint on your drafting table, metal easel, or clothing, that was just too stubborn to remove? The solution to removing that stubborn paint may be in your bathroom medicine cabinet. Rubbing alcohol, something most of us have around the house, can be used to break down the binder of the acrylic paint and remove it from plastic palettes, non-porous surfaces, and even fabric if the fabric has not yet been washed. Use the alcohol at full strength, do not dilute it. Let it sit on the dried acrylic paint on the palette, use it to dampen a cloth or sponge for cleaning the table or easel, or dab it on freshly dried acrylic paint on fabric. It will not work immediately but it can work miracles with a little patience and some elbow grease.
