A new project has been announced in the WetCanvas! project system!

Title: Summer Nights
Project Leader: Jakeally
Relative Difficulty: Easy
Type Restrictions: Any Type
Medium: Any Medium
Subject: Not Applicable
Days open for signups: Always
Maximum participants allowed: Unlimited

Description:

Think of a really balmy summer evening......what would you most like to do?
Take a walk....go for a drive.... Do you paint or create or watch the TV. Have a BBQ on the beach or enjoy an Al fresco meal with friends. Play tennis.... or maybe jog round the park.

My favourite...... I love to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and just soak up the view...... just heavenly.

So what do you do?

Your challenge, if you choose to accept, is to paint, draw, create an image or object that reflects how you like to spend your perfect summer evening.
You may use just one or as many mediums as you like in your creation. Experiment with something new or stick to the medium you are happy using.

Most of all have fun and enjoy the project

Additional Information:

For more information on the project: Click here! (http://www.wetcanvas.com//Community/Projects/browse_details.php?proj_id=480)

Remember, in order to help keep the discussions on projects organized, you should post your questions, suggestions, and comments on submitted work here in this thread. By doing this, we allow other non-project efforts to not get "pushed down" by a swarm of project-related threads.

How much fun is this:D Great entry Li and you are really doing very well with the watercolours:clap:
I really don't envy all the hot conditions you have to cope with....I would just melt:eek: and I can imagine how wonderful floating down the river would be.....just heavenly.
Hey....I thought you said you were going to concentrate on the work for your shows:evil: :D  I am so glad you joined the project before you have to get down to some serious work:cat:

Thank you for your lovely comments on my summer evening....it took me several attempts to get that sky looking anything like the photo....I will probably end up doing it lots more times. That evening was very special and I really want to nail it the very best I can:cat:

 Shoot ! You totally nailed me. This is my last project before my show, I swear.. I just couldn't resist it was sooooo danged hot last night.

Thanks for your comments on my technique. This is the first painting where there was no effort to the watercolors. I didn't go too heavy or opaque, kept the lights without really thinking about it. A goofy painting but sort of a breakthough for me so I'm happy..

Okay...I am getting off the computer now.....or at least switching to projects you are not in. LOL. :D

Eeeeeeeeekkkkkkk, these are looking really stunning....

I'd love to paint the waterfront looking across the water to liverpool, at sunset. It is stunningly beautiful. If you look one way it's dark, if you look the other it's still light, then there's the middle bit.

I can't do landscapes though...
AND... pathetic person here.... I'm usually in bed at the moment before the sun goes down lol....

I am going to have a go at something though, and if i can get a photo of the promenade I'll post one.

Thank you Li and Chris. I have done this watercolor because I like the shadows and reflexions and the underwater rocks. I have painted another one because I am not satisfied with the calmed waters, please tell me which one do you like more.

Dolors,

Can you post your second effort along side your first in the finals gallery ? Sometimes it's easier to spot problems in the thumbnails.

Thanks for your comments on my silly effort. It's the first watercolor I've ever done where it felt easy and natural so I may be having a breakthrough. ( I think you and I are following each other around the boards tonight. LOL. )

Well, I will post as a final entry, I didn't do it before because they are so similar. Chris you as project leader please tell me if you want me to delete one of them.

No problem Dolors:D
I put both pictures side by side in PSP. I like them both....they just look to be painted to reflect different times of day. The first one later in the day because of the darker shadows in the water.
I do like what you have done with the swimming pool in the second picture..... so much more translucent and I love the colour you added to the rocks.
However I just love the way you rendered the flowing waters in the first attempt....I think you captured the moment perfectly.
So.....I like both pictures very much and both are more than worthy to be part of this project:clap:  :D
