So - another illustration project is just beginning. I need to get it done in the next few weeks as it's for my grandson for his birthday. He is very into maths (he will be 5) so I thought I'd do a times table book with pictures - that's the idea anyway! He already does multiplication of 10's etc

sorry for the blurry image, I'll get a better one when my scanner is behaving.

It's hime doing his maths, with little sister watching.

Your grandchildren are so very fortunate to have you as their Gran! What a luxury to have books that are personally illustrated for you.

Sounds like a very bright boy. I agree with Margo, your grandchildren have a treasure in you.

I remember the last book, so I can't wait to see what you do this time!

They were over today and my husband was watching horseracing - Sam wanted to know what the numbers on the screen were (the odds)

- so we explained that if you put one pound on the horse to win, then you'd win 10 if it was 10:1 and asked what if you put 2 on - he caught on straight away and we were doing the 10x table - he's not yet 5 so pretty good :>) though I'm not sure that gambling odds are what the teachers would approve!

Well, if its interesting it will certainly sink in better.

Love the drawing, your grandson looks a happy little guy and little sis peeking over the table is so cute.

Thank you everyone!

I coloured it on the computer and then designed little elements to illustrate the sums

here are some of the bits n'pieces

all of these are of course tiny in the book. I drew them by hand, scanned and then coloured them in the computer for speed.

I used the picture of him to create his birthday card,

this is a page - I decided to do it as an A5 landscape book, with half the table on one page and the other half on the facing page. It was just so difficult to fit all the tiny pictures in otherwise!
