I stumbled across a nice wooden box in a charity shop today and would like to use it for my new oil pastels which I've been getting gradually. Ideally I can use it to transport the ops to class or maybe even create some kind of pochade box/easel from it. I can't find a supplier though for sheets of foam liner - the type the Senneliers come in their little boxes. Is anyone aware of such a supplier? UK or Ireland preferably but anywhere would be of interest .

I don't know about the farside of the pond but online stores such as Jerrysartrama.com, Art Supply whatehouse, dick blick have foamed boxes for pastels. Click on the "Porta Box" link. If the box is too large, a little cutting and taping should make it fit.

Pastel pods may not be quite as efficient:

Maybe you could try a fabric store, they might have the foam you are looking for in the Quilting section.

What about trying that 'Fleecy' (not the wooly like stuff that tears easily) looking sheet fabric they use to cover cushions before they add the fabric?
