GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: black and white island
Year Created:
Medium: Oil
Surface: Board
Dimension: 10 x 8

MY COMMENTS:
just a wee contrast piece in black and white
inspired by a calendar photo in color

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
changed it and made it my own in the conversion from color ... see any necessary tweaks?

I like it very much la, I think if you pulled some of the reflections downwards instead of wiggling from side to side it would give a more realistic reflection! I think you are extremely clever, great tonal balance!!! Cheers =)) Debs.

Great tones and contrasts - especially in the trees. I like how you've re-grouped the trees in to a more artistic arrangement than the original.

Only crit - needs some more work on reflections - they would be as long or longer than the trees.

What a wonderful work! I like monochrome paintings.

I had the same idea -- I like it better than the photo, but the reflection doesn't look quite right -- would more of the trees have reflections?

Looks great! I agree that the reflections might need some change.

a spot more highlights on the rocks.

I think the original was taken in the early morning so the highlights and shadows are quite crisp. yours has more of less defined aspect -- altho I like it very much.

good to see you posting agin missed ya!

stop by the Shutterbug Pub now and agin and say howdy.
