LeAnne!! Where've you been girl!!!! I missed you!! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek. :)

Thanks Monica! Um that brown should have more red in it...oh well...Check out the post I'm putting up in a minute or so...I figured out how to tweak the scan so the color is closer. :)

Chris...Grrr....Flamez eh? You want flamez.....He he he...I'll get you some flamez....Keep an eye out. ;) The odd brown ink is a Winsor and Newton jar...The color is called Peat Brown...It doesn't say anywhere that it is archivel so I don't use it much, but had to buy it cuz I love the little bottle it comes in. :)

Nina!!! Coming from you, the Tree Queen.. Thanks!!!! :D

Thanks guys!

Danny

I like the color, and if the ink is by Windsor Newton then it is most likely archival. The past few trees you have done with the raised roots I really like.

Thanks Charissa! :) I'm on that kick right now...Want to keep pushing it...I have this picture in my head of the roots just striving to reach down and wrap around the rock...It is so much more dramatic in my head. :( Just wish I could get it on paper....I'll just have to keep pushing it. :)

Danny, you are either getting really good at getting these down quickly, or you have a very long lunch break. :) Love the detail you got into this, like in the grass and little flowers, not to mention, of course, the tree itself (but that is starting to become a "given").

Another nice one Danny......the peat brown works really well, giving a softer feel.
Detail view is great ...and the roots have that feeling you are looking for.:)

Danny, you are either getting really good at getting these down quickly, or you have a very long lunch break.

LOL Ray...just an hour for lunch...5 minutes for eating and 55 for drawing...LOL

dip pen, huh? I've messed up some clothes with a dip pen

 Jamie...guess clothes should be optional when YOU use dip pens...LOL

Thanks Dave...I needed to hear that about the roots...Still, I'm hard headed....going to have to keep "trying" to get it right.

Mz_Sketch, :D thank you!! Yes the behave most of the time.

Sharon!!! Have you finished it yet!! AND Where's that drawing of a tree I challenged you to do. :D

Dolors!! Where have you been!! I've missed you! Glad you like it.

Thanks Tiger...Some people around here seem to think I have a tree fetish... :D I'm glad you like it.

Hey Brandon! How's it goin? Um it is a generic holder and I wanna say a ?speedball? extra fine point or something...I'll check it at home tonight and will let you know. It is a very tiny point kinda leaves an edge on the bristol when I draw. Here's a scan of it. :)

Its a hunt, so yes its now speedball (i think they bought hunt out some time back) and the nib looks like a 102. Ok thats scary, I shouldn't be able to do that.

If you can find it try a gillott 290 or even better a 291 if you can. I got a few of the 291s off ebay a while back and they are great. you should be able to find the 290s in hte stores still. Very flexible, it gives a great range of line weight. The hunt 108 are nice too, and they fit your holder :D

I love dip pens, could ya tell :D

Roy!! I like your ideas.. Love Nightmare before Christmas. :)

Brandon thanks for the awesome suggestions. I'll have to go shopping. :) I love doing the dip pen thing just hate when I drip. These fine points or fun cuz I can still get all detailed but it is still "loose" for me. :)

Um, the little package says Speedball 102 & 107 you are a dip pen genious!! ...so I'll assume the tip still in the container is a 107...WAIT...here's an idea take it out.......Yep says Hunt 107 right on it....Gotta try it out. :D

take care
