Hi y'all! I'm working on a mural at the local University, for the Division of Extended Learning.... also known as Lifelong Learning. They do the programs for adults who want to go back to school for a degree, or just to learn more about a specific topic. They also have summer programs for kids. The mural depicts some of these activities. Just wanted to share some progress pictures.... http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Ruth! These are great! Are you having as much fun as it looks like you are? You should be very proud! I especially like the woman in the grad gown and hat. How long have you been working on them and what are the approximate sizes? Hope you don't mind the questions but mural work fascinates me.

These are great. I went back to school when I was in my 40's. Too back I didn't get to stay. I like the first one too.
Great job as always.

We may not have been to school, but we sure paint like we did!

Thank you Cheryl and Tammy! It is fun! I feel especially good about it because it's where I went to school a hundred years ago, and I've never been able to make financial gifts to the school...so this is my gift.

Cheryl, the whole mural is about 15' wide and 7' high. It's in the shape of an oval, more or less, and each separate image is about 2'. All held together by cloudy foggy looking stuff, so the whole thing is a cloud with individual clouds in it. I've been collecting photos and doing sketches for about a week before touching the wall. Two days of sketching it out in charcoal (about 10 hours total). Two evenings of painting (about 8 hours total) so far. I'm doing this in the evenings after I work at another project during the day. At this rate it'll probably take 2 weeks to finish.
