Here ya go Leslie.... the problem with your image file was a space inbetween mini and landscape. When you name an image file, just name it one word. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

BTW.... this painting is great!

Just how mini is this?? It is a perfectly pretty painting! And I wish I was there! I like the subtlety in the few little flowers in the foreground. ---Jane

Sorry, I was supposed to go back in with a description but I forgot to do it.

I took a photograph of this site in Vermont last summer. I wish I was there, too!! I painted it in oils on vellum and it measures just a little more than 3x5 inches. The actual colors are softer than they appear on screen. They look perfect on the print screen but something happened in transmission. I really prefer full size painting but the minis are a nice diversion. Thank you for the encouragement - I need all that I can get!

This is such a lovely painting. Was wondering what kind of brushes you used, painting this small?

This painting sparkles! It leads my eye around the bend and makes me curious as what may be there. I can imagine the little creatures hidden in the shadows of the right bank. It does make one want to be there.

Thank you - all. You really know how to make a guy feel good!

I have a number of brushes that I purchased from a miniaturist on the West Coast of Florida. She was bought out by a man by the name of John Pitts, MiniArt Supply. His email address is [email protected] I have not bought anything from him as yet. I've never seen any of these brushes in the stores.

Hi Les,
This is a beautiful little painting. I don't see how you paint so small though. It's tough for me to move down to 11"x14"!

I commented on your Rembrandt painting and remarked about your eye for compositon, and it's very evident in this one as well. Someone else mentioned how well the eye is led around the picture, and back to the focal points.

How long have you been painting? I've been painting steadily since 1991, though I made a couple of stabs at it before then.

Hi Bill,

Thanks. The truth of the matter is that this was only the second landscape that I have ever done - never thought I could do a landscape. I became interested in miniatures because I have a dollhouse though this one is too big. I'm working on a few others right now a little larger (8x10) and I'm really enjoying it. Now I want to go bigger - I think I'm hooked. The minis are very taxing on my eyes. I started copying masters many years ago but only recently have had the time to devote myself to painting more creatively. Email me if you put up another painting so I don't miss it.
