love this! love the gesture and elegance. 1 part almost bothers me -- the ball of cloud sitting on a straight line

Lots to like here! I find the blue of the sky too bright though, because everything else is softer.

I love this La, it has a wonderful simple elegance. I would like to see the cloud less ball shaped too, that is my only pick. Beautiful colours and awesome paintbrush work on the flowers and stems. Superb. =)) Cheers Debs.

What the others said and some other thoughts:
I'd run some of the cloud white through the edges of the work so it's not constrained/surrounded by the blue.
The three poppy flowers line up. I'd move the central one down to break that up.
Same sort of issue with the three "buds" on stalks that reach high; right and left. Maybe add more to the left stalk to unbalance.

Been a fan of yours for a long time.

still am

this made me smile. OK, I also agree with the comments, but as it is it evoked a tall thin leggy group of souls reaching for the stars, their pathway to the sun blocked by a cloud of doubt

love ya!

This one has La painted all over it.
Nice one, La.

I agree with the rest.. a lovely light mood to this but the white ball cloud and the randomization of the flowers need help. Imagine a line drawn through the middle of the canvas and you will see that you have one main poppy with one main high branch of buds on either side. Change one side or the other so they are not the same. Randomization is harder than it appears, at least for me anyway.

I can understand all the comments, but my bottomline is I like it as is.

I'd leave it as is, I guess I agree with Bill, it's very La-like.

Hi La, my initial response was that I liked the feel of this, and your palette is unusual which I like, I agree with the others, just a little more of what you do and this could be stunning.

This isn't your work. Oh ok, just checked and it is. Wonderful surprise when artists do something totally different.:)
Like others have already posted, like the light, elegant, sort of asian strokes that make the flowers. I do not think it fits with the background at all though, the cycle shape and high contrast in the background make it the point of interest, which competes with the flowers instead of complimenting them.

:)
only had a chance to *look* at it a few times
thinking i need to tone down the white a bit
give it some depth, vs the giant blob that it is
without turning it into a gloomy piece
must maintain some level of cheery :)

hoping tomorrow will allow the time

I really like the flowers coming out of the dark and in to the white light, personally. I think the flower heads are really good, beautifully painted. I tend to agree there is something not quite right about the blue/white blob nature of the sky which doesn't match the 'wispiness' of the rest of the work.

Like your work. The idiosyncratic point of view works well, makes us smaller than the flowers. It might be an idea to detail grass and flowers as to underline the position of the viewer, being very close (literal) to mother nature.

Unmistakably a 'La' work! Wistfully passing by wafting before one's eyes.

This is absolutely gorgeous. You have essentially defined the rule of thirds in this painting. I love the contrast you've created, and the delicacy of the flowers stands out among the bright in the center.

Just looked at your new Blonde picture it wo'nt need a background just put a poppy in her hair and it's obvious where I've seen her before
