Yesterday I got out of work early and headed over to Gapstow Bridge in Central Park for a lovely afternoon of painting. I have never painted the bridge before, which is almost un-New York of me. We've all got to do it sometime or later, right?

I added 2 new things to my setup:.
1. A multi-mount Guerilla umbrella. I have been trying to get one for a year and a half, it was backordered on Jerrys forever. I finally got hold of it, and of course the price had gone up. But...I  it.

2. OFF brand clip-on bug repellent. IT WORKS!! Mosquitoes love me, they bite me even through bug spray. Though I was by the water yesterday, I did not receive even one single bite (!!), nor did I exude a poisonous stench on the subway home.

Very nice painting!

Good composition too!!

Those clip-on bug spray work surprisingly well don't they?! Like you, I'm a biting bug magnet and I was surprised how well it worked. The only thing it didn't stop were the gnats, but it could have been a low cartridge in my case.

There is a nice continuity of loose brush strokes throughout the painting that helps hold it together for me. Obviously, I like the painting.

Thanks for the info on the bug repellant and the view of your kit.

Lovely painting. I like how you captured the scene and particularly the stone bridge - lots of energy in this painting. Bravo!

Oh, and thanks for the tip about the clip-on. Definitely something I will try!

That's one potent, finely detailed painting! Luv the colors & perspective. Functional set-up too. Now, whats this clip-on bug juice? Clips on you, easel or what? Local SoCal Chambers of Commerce dis-allow most bugs, but I'm headin' for the mountains soon and need this!

Boomer, sorry i missed your reply before...I clip it on my apron but you can clip it anywhere. Find it in the bug spray section in any store, I got mine at Walgreens.

Thanx everyone else for your kind words!!
