Comic books taught me how to read. And they taught me how to appreciate art. My interest in costume design, costume detail and anatomical detail come from comic books.

But I can't get the imagery out of my mind. So they keep showing up in my Painter experiments.

This one is The Spectre, a ghost/vindicator who often chooses gruesome ways to take revenge upon the bad guys. This might happen in his world, but it's more... creative than the comics could be.

Naturally, the character is copywrited by DC Comics.

Comments would be appreciated.

YEEOUCH!!!

Didn't know the Spectre could be so hardcore! I had a similar experience with comics. Reading them led me to reading the classic myths, which lead to reading everything else.

In one episode, one of the bad guys is a hairdresser. When Lieutennant Corrigan, a.k.a., The Spectre, finds them, The Spectre levitates a pair of scissors into the air and they grow and grow and grow and grow until they're so big that they can snip the hairdresser in half.

In another episode ghost's vitictiveness is manifested by the bad guy melting into a pink puddle.

That kind of charming imagery has made me the pervert I am today. What a wonderful world!

Later,

Ron.
