My first post http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif
This was "mouse painted" in PaintShop Pro.
I was trying for a "painterly" effect.

An Elfwood denizen!!
This is quite interesting technique? Did you start with a scanned drawing and the modify it, and is some of that drawing still visible?
Kind of like watercolor wash and ink, but the watercolor is electronic. Interesting....

Very pleasing portrait. I like your use of paper textures, also.
Limits? What limits?

Thank you all for the comments!
The original sketch was my first self portrait, age 39 (now 41). I scanned the pencil sketch and started playing in PSP.
It's all one layer, mostly the airbrush tool, various paper textures and opacity, a little dodge and burn, push, clone, soften and smudge.
(I have this thing with ears......hehehe! Wearing cat ears in my "tiny head" icon pic)

Very nice......I see a bit of a self-portrait in there...I'm into Digital Media, too.....Mixing PhotoShop with photography; sometimes adding poetry.....

I think it's fantastic. Love the blazing highlights in the hair. Sort of gives it that good old elfin magic feel. Looks remarkably close to pastel. Very nice.
By the way, I paint with a mouse also. I wouldn't know what to do with a stylus tablet.
