View Full Version : Spitfire - finally finished!

Here goes - Anton Glowacki of 303 RAF claimed part of a kill on an He111 over Dieppe while flying RFQ. There were no postwar confirmations of a 111 lost that day, so it may have been damaged or mis-identified. As the Poles were known for pressing their attacks close, I chose to portray it in this fashion. The piece is acrylic on canvas, approximately 20x28". Comments and critiques are most welcome! Thanks for checking it out.
Note: slide is reasonably accurate, however the piece isn't quite as dark in the lower edges as the photo looks.

I like it D'Arsy, you have certainly captured the Polish 'take the fight to the enemy' atitude!. The sea has come out very well, not easyly portrayed from above.

That came together nicely D'Arcy . As Jim says - the sea looks right .

Thanks for the compliments - I'll have to earn a few more on the next aviation piece I do. Mind you, at my current pace that will be next year sometime!

Absolutely fantastic! Puts my current P-51D to shame (mostly considering it's not finished yet). I think you've captured it perfectly.
