View Full Version : Any Suggestions?

I like this piece alot - but I'm not quite satisfied - maybe I should crop out a lot of the unnecessary background, but I like the composition. Maybe I should change the color slightly on the rock next to the man, but I'm not sure.

Any suggestions?

I am always a little nervous about doing a crit on a piece when I am not sure on the artist's intentions (since there is always a million directions any work of art can take - certainly including my own).

Can you tell us what you are shooting for with the piece? Once I understand the artist's ideas, I think I can be of better help... looks good so far.

Have you ever posted anything in the critique forum? I need to visit there, but there is so much going on in that one, I can never keep up!

I will return and try and respond after I see what you are thinking - until then, have fun with it!

Well, I'm calling the piece Creation. God creating Adam. I'm worried that Adam who is rising out of the muck in front of the rock is not diferentiated from the rock enough. Other than that, I'm worried that I have too much dead space and maybe I should crop off the right and left and focus closer on God and Adam.

Is this what you mean, Shriner? I have not posted my stuff on the critique forum, maybe I'll post this there too.

I like this piece, too. Sorry, I can't give any advice on your composition. That's one the many areas I'm working on myself. I really like the ethereal quality of the Diety.
