it's a little odd having a(n almost) ninety degree corner bend on a flower (yellow one)
there is little consistency in your light source ...

i've found it useful to have an under painting as a reference for the strongest value ranges when working with a knife.

overall composition is nice, i like how bits leave the canvas

La...thanks for the feedback....i believe the yellow flower is overlapped on ref photo obviously not captured that, will take another look...light source i always find difficult to portray, will have to keep trying...Christine:)

post your reference and i can show you a side by side comparison of the greyscales of the ref and painting
assuming you are unable to do that yourself

i have uploaded ref photo

sorry hon, that's the crappiest reference image ever  and wouldn't show a decent representation of grey scale

it does show, however, a good difference between the light under the yellow petal as compared to the shadow under the yellow petal ... this shows us the diff between a bent petal, and a bent surface it sits upon ... note that difference and you're well on your way to making a nice, easy change for improvement :)
