My first effort in digital art (Painter Classic) Ė and my first attempt at a figure (among my first five works too). This would make a good entry for the first attempts project! I was pleased with this at first because my friends and family recognize the person. Iím not as pleased with it now, because I realize everything is much the same value, and I didnít give the composition much thought either. Can you make any suggestions?

Your first effort is a great effort. Well done...Do you have dodge and burn to play with?

Hey Grace,

Its good to see another Painter painter painting paintings! Great 1st piece. Like TeAnne said you can utilize the dodge and burn tools or sample the colors, darken/lighten them on the color wheel and use the tool of your choice to go over the area.

I agree with digistyle!

This is really good! I can't wait to see what you can do when you get used to this.

Do you have a tablet? (Painter classic came free with mine)

What a tongue twister Digistyle. I didn't know that Painter Classic had a dodge and burn tool, guess I should go and look around for it. Yes, Shehaub I have a Wacom tablet (6x8)- haven't used it much though. Thanks TeAnne, Shehaub and Digistyle for your kind comments!
