i created this portrait on my mac with painter software. i am not that comfortable with painting with the mouse. Any tricks i need to know?? I am interested in anything i can learn about it.

Impressive work with a mouse! Maybe look into getting a Wacom (sp?) tablet and pen to see if you like it even more...

I can't believe waht you folks are doing with a mouse - nice.
You might want to think about investing in a Wacom tablet (pen and pad instead of a mouse). It would give you even more control

I agree with the rest; if you can, get a tablet. I'ved used both and there is no comparison. Check my website, I've posted work I've done with a mouse and with a tablet. If you want to stick with the mouse for a while, my suggestion would be to play with the opacity and grain to get the desired effects.
