Does anyone have PS 6 yet? Do I need to upgrade? If there is ANYTHING more cool on it than PS5.5, I WILL upgrade!

what I have heard 6.0 is more intergration of Illustrator and imageready and photoshop. As well as live motion. Adobe is going to a one package concept. I not sure if I will upgrade or not. I kind of like the separate package idea.

Here's Adobe's own summary of what's new: http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/keyfeature1.html

That's just the first page, be sure to click through the others to see everything.

Now I'm kicking myself for having bought both Illustrator and Photoshop earlier this summer. D'ohhhh! Oh well, at least I didn't spend my OWN money on it. http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif And maybe there's still stuff Illustrator can do that Photoshop can't...

We got Photoshop 6 last month...Ray pre-ordered it. We upgraded from Photoshop 4, so we gained a lot. My daughter, who designs websites for the U of I, says that most of it is on 5.5. It includes the web-friendly Imageready. My current fav is new, ‘liquify', a filter under ‘Image'. Basically some stuff like ‘Kai' effects..lots of fun. Toys...eye candy. But, practically speaking, there's a ‘history' edit feature that is useful, but takes lots of memory...in fact, the whole thing takes lots of memory.

It's worth it if you are up-grading from 4 or 5; have at least pentium III; 486, or more..the more the better.. Otherwise you won't be able to make best use of what you would gain...

Always very cool features with each upgrade. Personally, I thought the upgrade from 5 to 5.5 was more impressive then 5.5 to 6.0, if my humble opinion is worth a hill o' beans.

My all time favorite was 2.0 to 2.5 .... mmmmmmmm..... Photossshhhop....... (homer)

eeeeek! I haven't even had 5.5 for long! http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I don't even remember a photoshop 2, that would have been pretty basic? http://www.wetcanvas.com/ubb/smile.gif

Haha. Photoshop 1.0 sucked. 2.0 was almost tolerable but I found it VERY limiting and slow (slow being a fault of my computer)

Why was 2.5 so cool?

They introduced layers at about that time (wati a minute... maybe that was 3.0?). That was when I finally got hooked...

Now I TEACH Photoshop. Bizarre.

Sherville: Don't worry about upgrading to 6.0 just yet if you don't know Photoshop REALLY well, yet. There is much to learn. Of course, if you are doing a lot of Web stuff or like all of the vector capabilities, then you might think about it

I started with version 3.0 and SO much has changed! I think the option to erase by using the history is and being able to have multiple undo's is the greatest thing since sliced bread!

PhotoShop...it ROCKS!!!
