i drew just the leaf contour from a foto i saw somewhere (in pencil), then worked directly with my fountain pen by imagination.
i did a light wash of water on the pebbles in the background, but i don't know if i did right... but now i did, can't go back :o((
though, i'm really happy with it and had fun. i think i'll do other leaves.

it's A5, in my sketckbook (i finally use it, lunchtime also).
please, suggestions are welcome!

ciao, rapolina.:)

Rapolina, I love it! The wash makes it look like water, and the leaf is floating on the surface. Gives it depth. Great job.

Well-said, Branwulf!

Very nice rapolina. I agree, it looks like it is floating on a cool blue shallow pool of water..

A very effective technique. Makes for a very dramatic composition.

I love the way you did the pebbles. The leaf is also beautiful, but I would add some more sepia colour in it.

Very realistic water effect....really nice. Just a touch more stippling on the leaf would make the veins stand out more but it is a lovely piece as it stands:clap:

Ciao, Rapolina!

This is really nice--great water effect with the wash on the pebbles, would like to see a little more texture and a bit (only a little) color in the leaf! Of course, that is the watercolorist in me! LOL

love the background and agree with others that the leaf needs a bit of color. Nice work!

This singlehandedly proved the fountain pen's worth. Great job! Show us some more.

Yep a bit of color on the leaf would bring this piece alive. Your pen work is great, and NO you did not mess up the pebbles and water. You got it right on target:D

thank you everybody!
i had really fun with this leaf, and a freat satisfaction :D :D :D

i agree that some color would help... but i used a fountain pen, so if i lay a wash i make a mess :( maybe I can try with more stippling or with coloured pencils... any suggestion? i'm always afraid to ruin a drawing I like.

ciao, rapolina.:)

Hello Rapolina. I seem to have missed posting on this. I know I planned....hmmm. Oh well, better late than never. I think it is really pretty and would make a wonderful design for a vase, plate or a tile. Looks really neat. I would like to see more work like this style from you.
